Department Overview

Motorola Solutions is a world leader in professional mobile communications systems with a heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group focuses on the implementation of mission-critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.

Responsibilities

  • System Optimization & Support: Optimize and support complex communication systems and software applications; perform advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics; develop solutions for complex technical problems involving maintenance, upgrades, or integrations.
  • Installation & Maintenance: Install, program, test, and troubleshoot Motorola mobile and portable radios, repeaters, antennas, and related accessories in fixed and mobile environments; perform vehicle radio installations (power wiring, antenna mounting, grounding, and integration); maintain, optimize, and document complex communication systems, including RF and broadband infrastructure.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance routines to ensure optimal system performance, with emphasis on trend analysis and detailed documentation.
  • Customer & Team Collaboration: Provide field support for Motorola products; collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Safety & Documentation: Maintain safety standards, handle electrical systems and vehicle components properly, and document all service, maintenance, and installation activities with photos, diagrams, and configuration records.

Certifications/Training

  • Associate Certified Electronics Technician
  • Minimum 2 years of Mobile Communications and Electronics Installer experience
  • Journeyman Certified Wireless Electronics Technician (Not required, a plus)
  • Motorola R56 certification

Candidate Requirements

  • Ability to commute daily to Weston, FL (relocating to Davie, FL in October).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%–30% of the time within the designated territory for project-based work.
  • Valid driver’s license with no traffic violations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
  • Associate degree or related technical certification, OR 1+ years of experience in networking, IT, electronics, or automotive electrical systems.

Note: This position may require working in high-security areas governed by CJIS policy and successful completion of fingerprint background checks.

Compensation & Benefits

Target Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 USD. Pay within this range varies based on knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
