Overview

Web Developer position at Montana Technological University, Butte, MT. The university seeks a web developer to join the Marketing and Communications team to develop, maintain, and support the university’s websites and intranet (intranet.mtech.edu).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support Montana Technological University’s websites and intranet content.
  • Lead the team responsible for a new university website, including migrating content to a new site.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the institutional web presence, including content, programming, graphic development, and interface design.
  • Collaborate across campus to obtain content from various sources for website use.
  • Coordinate with the central information technology department to test and maintain web servers and related software.
  • Work as part of the Marketing and Communications team in a full-time capacity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 2 years of experience building commercial or nonprofit websites, including design, information architecture, content development, communications strategy, and application programming.
  • Proficiency in HTML(5), CSS(3), JavaScript, and ASP; knowledge of responsive design and web content management systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build professional relationships with colleagues and constituents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Cascade CMS.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Access, and Apache Velocity.
  • Understanding of higher education marketing practices for college/university websites.
  • Knowledge of the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
