The Volunteer Grant Writer will play a crucial role in researching and drafting grant proposals to secure funding for the organization’s programs and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, attention to detail, and a passion for nonprofit work. Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Research: Identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Proposal Writing: Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with each grantor's guidelines and funding priorities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program managers, finance, and leadership teams to gather relevant information for proposals.
  • Reporting: Assist in preparing grant reports to funders, detailing program outcomes and financial usage as required.
  • Grant Calendar Management: Track and manage the grant application and reporting calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
    • Strong research skills to identify potential funding opportunities.
    • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about the grant application process and funding cycles.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred:

    • Previous experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
    • Familiarity with fundraising databases or software.
