About the Role
Comfluence is seeking an Associate Director, Audience & Data Strategy to join our growing team in New York. This role is a unique opportunity to shape and independently drive audience strategy on a high-profile, multi-vertical client that touches nearly every facet of modern consumer life. Focusing within e-commerce and health services, you'll be a key partner in translating leadership's transformation priorities into day-to-day, actionable strategies that guide media planning, targeting, and measurement.
As an individual contributor, you'll serve as the bridge between enterprise-level objectives and executional teams, bringing clarity, rigor, and consistency to how audience insights and strategies are developed and applied to paid media strategy. This role requires strong analytical and storytelling skills, the ability to drive collaboration and build rapport across teams with diverse expertise, and the discipline to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Synthesize complex data into actionable insights and clear recommendations informing media strategy & activation working with data from a variety or sources (e.g., Nielsen, MRI, GWI, 1P, etc)
- Partner closely with analytics and data science teams to design custom audience approaches
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable frameworks for segmentation, audience targeting, and audience based measurement in collaboration with investment, marketing sciences, and strategy teams.
- Conduct audience overlap analyses and sizing to inform segmentation and targeting approaches
- Support enterprise level transformation initiatives, advancing the approach to data and technology supporting audience centric planning
- Manage audience taxonomy implementation and maintenance in partnership with data operations
- Serve as a connector across teams, ensuring audience insights are embedded and flow seamlessly across planning, activation, and reporting.
- Proactively manage multiple concurrent projects with overlapping timelines, balancing short-term needs with long-term prioritie
- Build trust and collaboration with teams from different backgrounds, guiding alignment and fostering productive ways of working.
- 7-9 years of experience in audience strategy, media, or marketing analytics, ideally in an agency or integrated brand environment.
- Demonstrated ability to independently create and execute audience strategies tied to enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Strong fluency in media planning and strategy, with a clear understanding of how audience insights drive business impact.
- Advanced proficiency with audience insights platforms and targeting systems (e.g., Nielsen, MRI, GWI, CDPs, DMPs, DSPs).
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional partners.
- Highly organized, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize across multiple initiatives.
- Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced environments where collaboration, clarity, and structure are key.
- Experience working in an agency environment on e-com, retail, or health clients
- Familiarity with digital audience targeting platforms (CDPs, DMPs, DSPs).
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous datasets and turning them into strategies.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Compensation Range
$70,000-$125,000 USD
This role is hybrid, requiring three (3) days per week in the office. The remaining two (2) days may be worked remotely. Specific in-office days will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to align with team needs. Please note that the number or required in-office days may be adjusted over time, potentially increasing the number of required in-office days based on business needs.
