Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will develop new data models using engineering patterns that leverage new cloud architectures, genAI and will extend or migrate existing data pipelines to the architectures as needed. This role will also enable the team to build genAI based applications that will improve the efficiency of our BI teams and Product Managers. Collaborate with scientists to create fast and efficient algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for optimization, statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning. Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service modeling and production support for customers. You will also be responsible to make sure our data store is secure and compliant and will work with Privacy and compliance teams.
Basic Qualifications

5+ years of data engineering experience

Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Experience with SQL

Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

Experience mentoring team members on best practices
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

Experience operating large data warehouses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
