Overview:
If you are passionate about making a difference, we are seeking a dedicated Grant Writing Volunteer to help support our fundraising efforts by identifying, drafting, and submitting grant proposals. This role is perfect for someone who wants to end hunger in the US — all while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
- Draft compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and related documents.
- Edit and proofread proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with funder requirements.
- Assist with gathering necessary documentation (budgets, reports, etc.) for grant submissions.
- Collaborate with staff to understand program goals and funding needs.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the mission and values of FoodRecovery.org.
- Strong written communication and research skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow guidelines and meet deadlines.
- Passion for nonprofit work and our mission at FoodRecovery.org.
- Prior experience in grant writing or nonprofit fundraising.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Time Commitment:
- Approximately 5–10 hours per month, including meetings, planning, and outreach activities.
- Attend monthly fundraising committee meetings.
- Participate in major digital fundraising campaigns during the year.
