Summary

The Senior Analyst - Customs Brokerage position is responsible for accurate and timely transmission of customs entries to US Customs and Border Protection. The essential duties and responsibilities include gathering required documents and information, reviewing and assessing accuracy for customs entry and ISF, monitoring ISF requests, and completing ISF filings in an accurate and timely manner as well as processing customs entries and post entry work.

Compensation

$54,000-$59,000/Year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selected)

Responsibilities
  • Process import US Customs entries and other government agency declarations, including gathering required documents, reviewing accuracy, and verifying key data elements (C.O.O, IOR, terms of sale, NDC, NEV, etc) for entry and ISF to ensure adherence to customer SOPs, federal/international regulations, and Glovis America SOP.
  • Monitor ISF requests and complete ISF filing in accurate and timely manner.
  • Process import US Customs documentation including CF 3461, 7501, 7512 and transmit to US Customs via ABI system.
  • Process PGAs declarations (FDA, DOT, FCC, F&W, TTB, USDA, etc.).
  • Review and monitor all customs releases, rejections, and other correspondence as appropriate.
  • Maintain timely and accurate communication with all related parties including sea offices, customer, CBP, PGAs, etc.
  • Prepare entry documents for Customs approval and duty payments.
  • Perform audit review on all assigned entry files and duty payments to US Customs.
  • Process customs-related AR/AP invoices and post entry work.
  • Process PEA, ruling requests, CF 28s, refunds, protests, and drawbacks; review and monitor post-entry work and other correspondence as appropriate.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers and overseas offices, resolve issues, and prepare and present reports on a regular basis (including weekly, monthly KPI and AR/AP reports).

Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of INCO terms, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Customs regulations and other government agency requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Customs Brokerage entry-writing.
  • Basic knowledge of shipment coordination and trucking companies, airlines, steamship lines, ports, and warehouses.
  • Accurate and rapid data entry skills.
  • Ability to work with demanding deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, thorough and accurate with the ability to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks; organized.
  • Understanding requirements of timely delivery of import cargo.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience in Customs Brokerage and/or Logistics required
  • 4-7 years of related experience in Customs Brokerage and/or Logistics preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work at a computer for long periods
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, writing, and typing
  • Stand/walk
  • Possibility of domestic travel 5%
  • Carry/lift a maximum of 20 pounds
