The Media/Content Development Internship is designed to provide students and recent grads with a hands-on experience within Visit Pasco, the Destination Management Organization for Pasco County, through assisting with special projects directly related to marketing our destination. This internship will provide a unique opportunity to be involved in many exciting projects, including marketing initiatives, FAM tours, new brand launch, content development and more. Essential Job Functions

Assists the Communications Manager to develop content for informational brochures, including a Destination Guide, Golf Guide, Dining Guide, and other print collateral, as directed. Assists the Communications Manager to coordinate photo and video shoots. Maintains ongoing list of photographic needs. Creates and manages searchable digital photo & video library. Assists the Communications Manager to draft and publish ongoing e-newsletters, as well as contributing other stories to promote different segments such as sports, meetings, leisure, etc. Assists the Communications Manager to coordinate familiarization tours, travel writers, etc. Collaborates with the Communications Manager to ensure social media campaigns are consistent with overall marketing and advertising messages. Assists the Communications Manager to update website content, images and video. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Independent judgment guided by general direction is required to research and communicate information. Requires high level thinking to analyze issues and trends, and to provide effective findings and assessments in support of various organizational objectives. Requires regular contact with C-level private industry executives, members of the public, elected and appointed officials, and staff. Requires developing and maintaining ongoing external relationships with local stakeholders, private businesses and other industry related professional associations. This position may involve handling sensitive or confidential information, complex situations, and ability to coordinate multiple functions while attending to additional duties and responsibilities as required. Ability to create and present ideas and findings clearly and concisely in written, oral, and graphic form. Ability to interpret applicable legislation, rules, and codes. Ability to operate a computer and industry-related software.

Minimum Requirements

PHYSICAL SKILLS:

Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Occasional heavy lifting may be required over 50 pounds.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

Students and/or recent grads from an accredited college or university in Mass Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design, Website Development or any related fields. Knowledge and experience with CMS, CRM, SEO and website development.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a valid driver's license.
