Position Summary: The Product Development Specialist is a vital partner collaborating closely with design, production, and merchandising teams to introduce exceptional products in our stores. This role oversees the product development process from initial design to final production, ensuring adherence to timelines. We seek a motivated, highly organized candidate with expertise in product development and sourcing, who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. Key Accountabilities: Initiate and monitor the status of all fabric, trim, and garment development. Communicate daily with factories and mills regarding development and production matters. Ensure adherence to the time and action calendar. Accurately enter all style information into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Manage bulk production styles in the PLM system, including creating tech packs and completing cost analysis. Collaborate with factory agents for weekly inquiries on tech packs. Oversee the approval of bulk submissions for fabrics and garments, ensuring compliance with established standards. Support the production department in creating fabric commitments in the PLM system. Administer weekly updates on production purchase orders in the PLM system. Skills & Experience: A degree in fashion design, merchandising, or a related field is strongly preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in product development, merchandising, direct sourcing, or apparel/textile design roles. Proficiency with DeSL product lifecycle management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of textile and apparel design principles. A collaborative spirit with the ability to work autonomously. Self-motivated and results-driven. Capacity to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment. Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential. Experience in data compilation, reporting, and professional presentation of information. Strong analytical skills focused on research and data interpretation. Proven ability to collaborate with various business partners at all levels. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines. Keen attention to detail and a strong customer service focus. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Adaptability and openness to change and innovative ideas. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with management and coworkers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Capability to maintain a sustained seated posture for extended periods and operate computer equipment. This position requires the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week from our New York office, with flexibility based on project demands. Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands: Prolonged computer keyboard usage is required. Daily routine includes stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching. The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally is necessary. Must possess visual acuity, hearing, and hand-eye coordination for effective computer and office equipment operation. The standard work schedule is 40 hours per week from the New York office, with some flexibility as needed.
