Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience involving institutional building cleaning and maintenance activities.*

* qualifying experience does not include light housekeeping duties that are limited to dusting, vacuuming, etc.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND BOCES Per Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and by Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required.

Desired Qualifications: The Facility Operations Expeditor plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the Facility Operations & Planning Department. This position coordinates and expedites projects, maintenance activities, and procurement functions to ensure efficient operation of facilities across the district. Assignments involve both office and field work, and include tracking work orders, supporting inventory and procurement processes, and serving as a point of contact for staff and vendors.

The Expeditor assists the Senior Computer Application Specialist by managing routine business, helping streamline department functions, and preparing reports that support district operations.

Position Summary/Responsibilities: Track maintenance work orders via computerized systems and expedite resolution of issues related to parts acquisition or scheduling; Establish and maintain inventories for equipment, preventive maintenance schedules, vehicles, and warranty work; Coordinate files, forms, and recordkeeping systems (including electronic workflows); Receive, resolve, or refer facilities-related inquiries with end users and liaise with vendors as needed; Support procurement processes: prepare and process requisitions, purchase orders (blanket and non-blanket), change orders, bill payments, and vendor setups; Participate in department projects, meetings, and improvement initiatives; Maintain required permits and licenses for operations (asbestos, pool, pesticide, etc.); Prepare and modify financial, statistical, and staffing reports using tools such as Crystal Reports, SQL, WinCap, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace; Work with HR and Position Control to ensure staffing data accuracy; Assist in Administering InformedK12 forms and workflows for Facility Operations, Central Stores, Facility Use, and districtwide needs; Assist with budget preparation and transfers across accounts; Assist staff with software applications and prepare electronic training materials; Attend professional development opportunities (e.g., TMA User Conference) to remain current on best practices and system updates; Perform other related duties as assigned.
