Job Description
Vanderbilt University is seeking a driven individual to serve as Digital Marketing Strategist for the Office of Learning Innovation, housed within the Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education in the Office of the Vice Provost.
The Digital Marketing Strategist will assist with the coordination of digital marketing campaigns, including ideation, development, and optimization. They will ensure that academic programs receive the necessary marketing support to meet recruitment and enrollment objectives.
About the Office
The Office of the Deputy Provost, established by Provost C. Cybele Raver in 2025, aims to implement strategic academic initiatives and foster cross-institutional alignment. Led by Deputy Provost Tracey George, the office advances enterprise-wide priorities, leads special initiatives, and supports the Provost in realizing Vanderbilt's academic vision.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Digital Marketing Strategist will support the development of online and lifelong learning programs, working closely with faculty and staff to craft marketing strategies that drive student enrollment. Responsibilities include managing social media campaigns, creating marketing assets, and supporting SEO and SEM strategies.
- Support the development of creative marketing campaigns to enhance student recruitment, enrollment, and brand awareness.
- Deploy and optimize email marketing campaigns using HubSpot and/or Technosolutions Slate, including building workflows and audience segments.
- Assist with organic marketing efforts, creating content such as social media posts, news stories, videos, and promotional materials.
- Develop and implement SEO and SEM strategies for various websites.
- Collaborate with the digital media team to produce high-quality video content.
Additional Support
- Assist in executing internal marketing strategies for AdvancED.
- Support social media marketing for internal audiences.
- Design marketing and communication assets.
- Support on-site event coordination as needed.
Performance Tracking
- Use dashboards to monitor key performance indicators such as cost per lead and application submissions.
- Analyze campaign performance to inform future marketing strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
- Preferred: Google Analytics and Search Ads certifications.
- 2-3 years of digital marketing experience.
- Experience in higher education is preferred.
- Expertise in Google Analytics, SEO, digital marketing, paid social, and CRM optimization.
- Experience with WordPress is preferred.
- Experience collaborating with agencies and third-party vendors is preferred.
- Strong teamwork skills and effective communication abilities.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, and Teams.
- Creative, data-driven, and capable of supporting users with diverse technical skills.
