We are growing the product design team and seek a designer with curiosity about users and the ability to craft world-class experiences. You will join a team of designers on a shared mission to make data analytics highly usable and accessible to non-technical users.
We are seeking a contract Product Designer with a strong focus on Design Systems to join our design team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with design system and product design stakeholders, working cross-functionally to advance Sigma’s design system. You will create and maintain scalable and accessible UI components and write effective usage documentation. As a key partner to the design system lead, your systems thinking will be crucial in ensuring cohesive, high-quality user experiences.
This is a contract position with an anticipated duration of 6 months, with potential to convert to full time, and is an onsite role at our San Francisco office.
What you will be doing
- Actively contribute to extending the Phi design system, fostering cross-team collaboration and adoption.
- Design new components and enhance existing ones within Figma libraries.
- Work closely with the Design System Design and Engineering Leads to align design and code across Figma and Storybook.
- Define and document reusable components and patterns.
- Explore how AI tooling can optimize system documentation workflows and efficiency.
Qualifications we need
- 3+ years of product design experience, with a focus on design systems in product-led environments.
- Strong visual design skills, including a deep understanding of layout, hierarchy, and interaction.
- Technical fluency in Figma. Expertise in variants, style management, variables, design tokens, semantic structure, etc.
- Experience supporting design systems for the web. Minimum of 3-5 years required.
- Familiarity with Storybook to ensure design-code consistency.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating clear, thoughtful collaboration and proficiency in documentation.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, iterative, and ambiguous environments.

Additional Job details
This position at Sigma is compensated with an hourly rate. Our hourly rate for this role is $75.00 - $90.00 per hour.
