Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist
Onsite, Tallahassee, FL. Duration: 12 Months. Location and project details provided by Tryfacta, Inc. (Equal Opportunity employer). Responsibilities
Create, review, and document methodologies for GIS workflows to support spatial data analysis using department and stakeholder spatial and tabular data. Perform geospatial analysis to meet project needs and address specific questions. Provide geospatial information needed to inform business decisions; translate requirements into applications that use decision support and reporting tools. Create maps, map graphics, and various spatial data report presentations as needed. Create web content in ArcGIS Online (Story Maps, Web Maps) and mobile GIS applications like Survey123 to support program needs. Provide geospatial technical support and training to program staff as part of the enterprise GIS team. Collaborate with customers, users, and team members to understand business requirements driving analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Communicate with both technical and business resources and translate business needs into effective technical specifications. Require knowledge of GIS and geospatial data formats, metadata; experience with ESRI GIS enterprise software and tools; imagery providers, formats, sources, and analysis. Perform spatial analysis in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online; create interactive web maps and apps in ArcGIS Online; build presentation content including dashboards and Story Maps. Transform GPS and tabular data into ArcGIS Online published feature services; communicate ideas in technical and user-friendly language. Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with excellent interpersonal, collaborative, oral, and written communication skills. Write technical, business, and plain language documents and emails with attention to detail. Contribute to multiple projects as a team member, occasionally as a project leader. Learn and implement GEO AI and Esri AI assistant tools in alignment with the Departments AI policy. Qualifications
Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification. Bachelors degree or higher in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Data Science, Information Systems, Biology, or related field. Education
