Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a
User Interaction / User Experience Designer (UI/UX)
to oversee all visual design efforts to support general accessibility and
Section 508 compliance
. In addition, this position develops and maintains relationships with key peers in marketing, branding, UX leaders, IT leaders, and others to identify and plan creative solutions.
Responsibilities include:
Develops proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UIs) that consists of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealing to provide a consistent look and feel that incorporates user experience feedback.
Ensures the use of responsive designs based on current best practices.
Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance of application release management, outage management, and change control processes and standards.
Defines, creates, communicates, and manages resource plans and other required project documentation such as style guides and provide updates as necessary.
Shows familiarity to code, test, and debug documents and implements web applications using a variety of platforms.
Plans, recruits, and facilitates the usability testing of a system. Analyzes and synthesizes the results of usability testing to provide recommendations for change to a system.
Supports up to 12 Accessibility Liaison events to include presentation, meeting
minutes, and follow up action items.
Provides customer service desk support for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) accessibility complaints and ICT Accessibility testing.
Supports and leads accessibility related trainings to include Section 508 awareness, Creating Accessible Documents, and Fundamentals in Accessibility Training (FIAT) (up to 50 total trainings in a year).
Supports and provides subject matter expertise and customer support to system owners and technical personnel to ensure 100% of ICT systems are tested for Section 508 compliance and meeting SharePoint site testing goals.
Creates and executes project plans, communication plans, and refined communications products for overall technology governance.
Establishes and maintains relationships with working level stakeholders within and outside of the OCIO, to include external partners, such as the DOJ and the Intelligence Community.
This position could have blackout periods as it relates to PTO to ensure coverage during annual core activities (i.e., FISMA Audit & others)
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
5 years of experience
U.S. Department of Homeland Security Trusted Tester certification or equivalent
In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
