Description
As a critical leader in the Hardware Engineering organization you will oversee a world-class team of Finite Element Analysis experts who engage deeply with the design engineers on every product at Apple. You will help develop these engineers to maximize their impact as analysts, teammates, and future leaders. You will oversee a roadmap for process improvements and ensure appropriate allocation of resources across the many Apple product lines. You will build and maintain relationships with design and reliability leaders at Apple to ensure that the team is applying its capabilities in the most impactful way.
Minimum Qualifications
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Material Science, or similar discipline.
Significant experience developing and leading teams that perform analysis or mechanical design duties.
Self-motivated leader who can identify areas for improvement and drive innovation inside and with partner teams.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and written and verbal communication.
Strong knowledge of solid mechanics.
Experience using implicit and explicit finite element analysis (FEA) in support of product development
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with passion for creating cutting edge products.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred experience with Abaqus, LS-Dyna or similar advanced FEA codes.
Preferred experience with system level modeling and simulation.
Preferred experience with test vs simulation correlation.
Preferred experience with consumer electronics product development.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $305,000 and $487,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
