Senior Accountant | High Growth Music Publisher & Record Label | Los Angeles

Were partnering with a top-tier music publisher and record label that is driving the next chapter of the industry through global artist collaborations, standout releases, and a deep commitment to both creative excellence and operational rigor. As the business scales, theyre seeking a Senior Accountant to support the CFO in managing day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities.

This role offers a rare opportunity to work at the crossroads of music, entertainment, and businesspartnering with global teams and playing a key role in the accounting function of a fast-moving, high-growth company.

The Role

This hire will take ownership of the U.S. accounting operations, working closely with executive leadership and external accounting partners. The Senior Accountant will oversee monthly closes, reconciliations, royalty accounting, and tax-related processes across both the label and publishing divisions. Success requires a mix of strategic oversight and hands-on execution, particularly in navigating complex deal structures, intercompany transactions, and international financial coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and share internal financial data with outsourced business managers and accounting partners
  • Manage employee expense reports, oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, and complete monthly account reconciliations (QuickBooks/expense platform)
  • Handle daily banking activity, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and receipt tracking
  • Collaborate with the global finance team at headquarters on monthly financial reporting and ad hoc accounting needs
  • Reconcile quarterly royalty statements for both the publishing and label divisions
  • Lead audit preparation, including compiling supporting documentation and ensuring compliance
  • Oversee financial operations across subsidiaries and affiliated entities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve accounting complexities related to joint ventures, M&A, and industry-specific deal structures
  • Develop, implement, and refine internal accounting procedures and financial controls
  • Manage tax calendars and support external partners with filing requirements
  • Assist with broader administrative and corporate finance tasks as needed
What We Need to See (Essential)
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Proven ability to manage monthly close processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Advanced skills in Google Sheets / Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What Wed Love to See (Bonus)
  • Experience in music, publishing, or entertainment industries
  • Royalty accounting experience
  • CPA or background in a public accounting firm (Highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with international accounting coordination
  • Enthusiasm for the music business and a collaborative spirit
