ALARM DESIGNER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Perform on site surveys * Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based from working both site visits and architectural prints * Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end * Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors * Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control * Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications * Assist sales department with system configuration, specification review and code applications for estimating projects * Maintain project drawing files and records
Knowledge:
* High School diploma or GED is required * Construction experience is a plus
Work Experience:
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CAD * APS State of TX preferred
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC * Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings * Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records * Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment * Strong customer service skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook * Ability to travel as needed
Physical Requirements
* 75% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, some lifting, walking and viewing. * 25% driving
