Grant Writer
Job Purpose
We are inviting a visionary individual to our team of invocative, passionate, and hardworking professionals who inspire hundreds of people every day in communities dealing with disparities. As Grant Writer, you will assist us in searching for, writing, and obtaining grants that will help us expand our projects and reach our financial goals such as women's health, behavioral health and other areas to advance health equity and expand the organization's reach. This is a critical role in driving community engagement, advocacy initiatives, and strategic collaborations that support 26Health's mission and long-term growth.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop grant proposals, applications, and reports, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and grant requirements.
- Collaborate with internal client teams to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.
- Stay updated on healthcare and nonprofit trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in grant writing.
- Federal grant writing and grant management experience required.
- budgets and proposal for individual grants.
- Work with the financial advisor to compile grant applications.
- Perform proposal and budget analyses of grant applications.
- Confer with agency personnel to resolve problems with grant applications.
- Compile and review project progress reports and financial status.
- Track grant application deadlines, reporting requirements, and submission statuses to support smooth grant cycles.
- Ensure timely follow-up with funders regarding grant-related questions or clarifications as applicable.
- Perform administrative and technical duties,
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in grant writing, particularly in the healthcare and behavioral health sectors.
- 3-5 years' experience grant writing, community engagement, fundraising or a combination.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Strong grant research skills and ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include above average interpersonal and relationship building ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expert-level knowledge of grant application processes, registration portal application processes, and funder compliance, is required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as superior time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Intermediate to Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May involve extended periods outside of the office at meetings with various individuals or organizations in the community.
