The City Council is actively seeking an Information Systems Administrator.

This position is appointed by the Council Secretary (Chapter 11, Jacksonville Ordinance Code). This is professional work in the design, organizing, implementation, and modification of audio-visual systems and equipment, and is responsible for the production of video programs and projects promoting City Council initiatives; production includes concept development, script writing, filming and editing. Job duties include both technical and administrative work. The work requires an understanding of audio-visual production through a degree granting school, or an equivalent level of experience. The work is performed in office and field environments. Operates a motor vehicle, computer, cameras, audio-visual, and standard studio equipment. The physical demands are moderate and consist of lifting, operating, and carrying cameras, film and video production equipment weighing up to forty (40) pounds. The work is performed under limited supervision where assignments are subject to established procedures, practices, standards, and/or well-defined policies, and worker plans and organizes, determines their own priorities, and work is reviewed.

- Performs inspections and provides information for asset management related to technology; provides the make, model, serial number, property number, and location of each asset.
- Notifies Council Property Officer as changes in equipment and/or location occur.
- Attends meetings and other events to provide audio/visual equipment operation, broadcasting/streaming requirements, and computer systems and related software, and performs pre-meeting testing of systems and hardware according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Responds to public records requests for audio and video files and provides copies of digital media as required.
- Operates and maintains operating systems, audio/visual equipment, recording and broadcasting equipment and communications devices. Coordinates procurement, installation, and maintenance of systems and equipment.
- Determines and analyzes methods for conversion of data into proper format. Converts all audio and video records for publication to the web and other outlets.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Provides leadership, technical assistance, and support in the development, duplication, broadcast and distribution of radio and television announcements, podcasts, videos, b-roll segments, press conferences, meetings, etc.
- Develops and launches programming to be broadcast in multiple vehicles including Comcast 99, YouTube, Web site, etc.
- Explores and leads the development and launch of innovative broadcast offerings/tools.
- Reviews and evaluates scripts and edits tapes and other multi-media.
- Operates, maintains, and schedules production facilities.
- Knowledge of audio-visual production theories, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of audio-visual and studio equipment and materials.
