DECK 13 Interactive is a game development studio known for titles like Lords of the Fallen, The Surge series, and Atlas Fallen. Since 2001, based in Frankfurt, Germany, we have grown to around 100 professionals and are part of the PulluP Entertainment group. We focus on creating immersive PC and console experiences and are seeking a new team member to join our character art team.

To continue our success story, we are looking for you to join as our new (Senior) Character Concept Artist (f/m/x).

Your Quest

• Passion for creating compelling characters and creatures concepts that hit the heart of our project\'s visual style
• Be excited to deep dive into design in all its forms, bringing life and logic to the characters you create
• Ideation and brainstorming with a wide range of creative disciplines; regular collaboration and communication with team members
• Work closely with the Art Director and Lead Character Artist to establish visual guidelines, style documentation, as well as art briefs for externals
• Maintain awareness of task progression, timelines, dependencies, and connected risks; support the team and production
• Engage in a positive and constructive feedback culture, and welcome artistic feedback from leads and colleagues
• Open to mentoring junior artists within the Character department

Your Toolkit

• Excellent 2D drawing skills with a strong grasp of composition, color theory, gesture, lighting, anatomy and form
• A comprehensive portfolio showing a range of fully rendered photorealistic and stylized characters, plus the road to finished concept (sketches, designs, etc.)
• 5+ years experience as a Concept Artist with a focus on character art
• At least 1 - 2 shipped AAA or AA titles as a Concept Artist (or related experience)
• Advanced knowledge of Photoshop (or other 2D drawing software)
• Bonus: Knowledge of ZBrush (or other 3D sculpting software)
