Overview

Virtual Reality 3D Artist at Booz Allen Hamilton. You will work with a creative team to model and texture 3D assets, helping modernization of training through immersive experiences. You will develop artwork for applications and demonstrations that support clients in meeting missions, and create photo-realistic 3D environments and models using industry software such as Maya, Z-Brush, 3DS Max, Photoshop, and Substance Painter. You will develop in-game and pre-rendered environments for various styles, including realistic geo-specific and general interiors, and apply lighting techniques and visual effects (VFX). The role includes exploring new AR/VR/MR technologies within the innovation laboratory and collaborating with a team to expand your skills and contribute to professional and artistic growth.

Responsibilities

  • Model, texture, and animate 3D assets for virtual reality applications and demonstrations.
  • Develop artwork for training and simulation environments, both in-game and pre-rendered, across multiple styles.
  • Create photo-realistic 3D environments and models using Maya, Z-Brush, 3DS Max, and related tools; work with texture and asset tools such as Photoshop and Substance Painter.
  • Implement lighting, environmental effects, and VFX; collaborate with the team to apply design principles and best practices in VR/AR/MR contexts.
  • Assist in exploring and validating new AR/VR/MR capabilities within Booz Allen’s innovation environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with 3D modeling and asset creation for virtual reality
  • 2+ years of experience with VR development workflows, material and shader setup, immersive lighting and environmental effects
  • 2+ years of experience with organic modeling techniques, hard-surface modeling techniques, and high-level animation creation
  • 2+ years of experience with industry-standard software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, and Blender, and texture and asset tools such as Photoshop and Substance Painter
  • 2+ years of experience with game design principles and implementation
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have

  • 1+ years of experience with front-end design for interactive applications
  • 1+ years of experience with GUI design and ZBrush for digital sculpting
  • 1+ years of experience with Physically Based Rendering (PBR) workflows, Bolt, and character and object rigging

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

Base pay range: $55,200.00/yr - $126,000.00/yr. Booz Allen offers benefits including health, life, disability, financial and retirement programs, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work-life programs, and dependent care. The compensation range is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, experience, and contract requirements. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
