Event Technician, Audio Visual - The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas
Base pay range: $15.09/hr - $18.49/hr
Overview
A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications.
- Customer Service: Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
- Technical Ability: Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Systems Knowledge: Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike; interact with other staff and outside vendors; increase revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required for team members that may operate Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
