Overview

Raritan Valley Community College is seeking part-time instructors to teach Film Studies courses, particularly Film Technique and a Survey of American Film. Responsibilities

  • Teach Film Studies courses, particularly Film Technique and a Survey of American Film.
  • Help students understand how American films reflect and shape culture and analyze key elements of film language (cinematography, editing, lighting, sound, and mise en scène).
  • Guide students in thinking critically and writing clearly about what they watch.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in Film, Media, Communication, or a related field is required.
  • Prior teaching experience is required; college-level teaching is preferred.
  • Strong background in film theory and history, especially American cinema; ability to teach film analysis, genre studies, and visual storytelling.
