Overview

Digital Media Manager role at Sega of America, Inc. The Digital Media team leads strategy and execution of SEGA’s paid media and paid influencer marketing campaigns across all PC & Console titles. The role collaborates with external agencies and cross-functional internal teams to define strategy, manage execution, and lead analysis of paid media efforts in the US, Canada, and across LATAM. The role is based in Irvine, CA and requires on-site work a minimum of 3 days per week.

Job Summary

The Digital Media Manager will collaborate with the Marketing Services, Consumer Insights, Business Planning, Sales, Brand, Transmedia and Product Marketing teams to usher in existing and new audiences into the SEGA ecosystem. This includes managing campaigns across paid media and paid influencer campaigns for both North America and LATAM regions. The right candidate is goal-oriented, data-driven and analytical with a passion for digital media, media planning/buying, catalogue marketing, and a strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Experience with product launches in the gaming industry is preferred. This role reports to the Director of Digital Media.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate and effective media plans designed to drive highly targeted, high-frequency conversion campaigns for SEGA’s console and PC games.
  • Manage awareness and conversion campaigns, testing a variety of traffic sources and targeting refinements to drive purchase intent, traffic to sega.com and maximize ROI.
  • Coordinate assets and QA within external agency and internal teams to ensure edits are made to specification.
  • Ensure campaign KPIs are met and provide detailed interpretation of performance data, identifying new opportunities.
  • Create and run AB tests and interpret and present data to wider team members.
  • Analyze campaign and research data and present findings to brand marketing teams and executives.
  • Ensure games and campaigns are tagged and tracked correctly, define event goals related to conversion objectives, and support product marketing teams during implementation.
  • Lead measurement and analysis of media campaign performance and ensure ongoing optimization.
  • Manage SEGA’s media agency of record and influencer agencies, serving as primary point of contact for conversions and campaigns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • In-office attendance is required for effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork. Reasons include:
    • Supervision of employees and oversight of work, meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.
    • Fostering communication and collaboration, spontaneous brainstorming, and quick access to team members.
    • Enhancing information sharing to support job performance and product creation.
    • Improved understanding of stakeholders’ work and business needs to facilitate workflow and outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on media planning.
  • Hands-on experience planning and managing digital paid media campaigns and presenting media plans and findings concisely.
  • Knowledge of game marketing, catalog marketing, and eCommerce with emphasis on performance marketing driving digital storefronts.
  • Expert in digital, programmatic, paid search, and social media platforms. Advanced knowledge of Amazon, Google, Meta, and TikTok required.
  • Deep understanding of using media to drive awareness and conversions for console and PC gaming brands.
  • Knowledge of industry tools such as Kantar, ComScore, GWI, and Nielsen.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to perform complex data analysis and build data-driven reports.
  • Experience working with development teams and media outlets to implement and test analytics tracking.
  • Experience working with audience builders to run retargeting campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze, draft, and present presentations to the executive team clearly and effectively.
  • Self-motivated, revenue-driven and passionate about supporting SEGA in the online games space.
  • Outstanding oral, written and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good time management and business process management skills; able to prioritize in a changing environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Active player of PC and console games with understanding of casual, mid-core and hard-core gamers.
