Violet PR is hiring: Public Relations Account Executive in Montclair

Overview

Violet PR is a Montclair-based boutique public relations firm focused on economic development, real estate, architecture and engineering, and social impact. We help clients amplify stories through media relations, compelling content and thought leadership, with a commitment to excellence and a client-first approach.

We are looking to add an Account Executive to our team as part of our growth strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day account activities, including regular client communication, assessing client needs and priorities, and generating ideas to meet those needs.
• Research and write news releases, pitches, fact sheets, media advisories and social media content.
• Pitch by email and phone to national, regional and trade journalists across print, broadcast and online outlets.
• Manage social media, implementing campaigns for clients on LinkedIn, X and Instagram.
• Research target media using Cision and other resources, with support from an Account Coordinator.
• Manage and mentor junior staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 3-4 years of PR agency experience.
• Demonstrated success in securing national and niche media coverage.
• Familiarity with AP style and strong writing skills.
• Knowledge of the wider media landscape, including current events, national/statewide news and trends.
• Experience with ideation and creation of news articles, thought leadership columns and blog posts.
• Detail oriented; able to manage multiple projects in an organized manner.

Salary

Salary range $60,000–$70,000 plus competitive benefits.
