Overview
Learning Experience Designer (LXD) at The Home Depot. This role provides strategic design leadership for learning strategies and programs, combining business strategy with design methodologies to create simple, relevant, and effective learner experiences. The LXD collaborates with learning strategy teams, applies user-centered design and design thinking, and helps measure solution effectiveness. The LXD mentors instructional designers and drives innovation within the team.

$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
- 25% Business Partnership & Collaboration: Collaborates with Learning Strategy Senior Managers and partners to drive user-centric learning strategies aligned with business objectives. Communicates the learning vision to gain buy-in.
- 50% Leading the Learning Approach: Conducts research to identify opportunities and informs the learning approach. Designs learner-first solutions, creates best practices and reusable templates, and develops artifacts (learner experience maps, program frameworks, proposals/charters, prototypes). Designs learning experiments and facilitates alignment activities. Validates solutions against objectives.
- 25% Mentoring and Capability Building: Serves as a design mentor, upskills the team, and advises on L&D trends.

Travel Requirements
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
- Most of the time, seated with opportunities to move. Occasional light lifting may be required.
Working Conditions
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, UX design, I/O Psychology, or related field preferred (or equivalent Home Depot experience)
- Experience in corporate learning or similar field
- Experience creating training deliverables for retail organizations across multiple modalities
- UX-related experience (journey mapping, persona creation, prototyping, visual design, information architecture, user research)
- Strong communication skills, ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences, and ability to work independently
Education & Experience
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum Years of Work Experience: 5+ years
- Minimum Leadership Experience: 1+ year
- Certifications: Relevant certifications or advanced degrees preferred as noted above
