JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Sys Programmer/Developer III will oversee the development and testing of various web-based software applications, as well as the design and implementation of various static web pages. All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  1. 70% - Essential - Development: Works with senior level staff to coordinate the following
  • Develop clean code and maintain existing code for cloud-based applications using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, and CSS
  • Develop web application solutions in accordance with established acceptance criteria as determined by the stakeholders
  • Develop use cases for both existing and proposed systems
  • Implement data conversion processes and procedures in compliance with departmental controls
  • Must have experience using a LAMP environment. Must be proficient in: Object oriented programming, MVC frameworks, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, git, and supporting database systems using MySQL
  1. 20% - Essential - Design: Fulfills development, design, testing, and user experience roles on projects. Coordinates systems development with external developers. Design and implement web pages for various internal and external partnerships. Applications must be able to convert flat design files into valid HTML/CSS layouts following accepted industry standards.
  1. 10% - Essential - Travel: Travel throughout the state as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Education - High School or Equivalent - and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate\'s degree or bachelor\'s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.

Work Experience: 0+ years

Preferred Requirements

Education - 1st associate\'s degree - in a computer programming related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor\'s degree under certain circumstances.

Work experience - six months experience in software development and modification

Job Knowledge

Fundamental job knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations

Supervisory Responsibilities

No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

Budgetary Responsibilities

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department\'s budget.

Standard Hrs: 37.5

Compensation

Band: 07 ($ 57,334.00 - $ 65,000.00)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate\'s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson\'s compensation guidelines.

Essential Personnel Level

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
