Role Technical Writer
Location Cary, NC

Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain documentation including but not limited to product documentation, procedures, and technical documentation to support various compliance products and services.
- Define documentation standards, templates, and style guides for consistency.
- Partner closely with technology and other business stakeholders to gather source information.
- Transform complex information into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Ensure documentation is technically correct, complete, and tested against actual product behavior.
- Create and update a central documentation repository in Confluence including taxonomy, metadata, and version control.
- Ensure consistency and industry best practices are incorporated into the documentation artifacts.
- Enforce style, grammar, and clarity standards.
- Manage review processes with SMEs and stakeholders.
- Create, update, and maintain Archiving Technology documentation to support eDiscovery Services and Archiving Technology.
- Define documentation standards, templates, and style guides for consistency in the archival domain.
- Partner with eDiscovery, Archiving Technology, and other stakeholders to gather source information.
- Transform complex information into clear, user-friendly documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure documentation is technically correct, complete, and tested against actual product behavior.
- Create and update a central documentation repository in Confluence with taxonomy, metadata, and version control.
- Enforce consistency and industry best practices in documentation artifacts.
- Manage review processes with SMEs and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in writing, e.g., communications, English.
- Exceptional writing skills: clarity, conciseness, grammar, and the ability to simplify complex ideas.
- Technical aptitude: understand underlying technical concepts and translate them for non-technical audiences; ability to translate legal/regulatory processes to IT partners.
- Strong research skills: ability to gather and analyze information from multiple sources.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: effective verbal and written communication with SMEs, team members, users, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to detail: accuracy and precision in technical documentation.
- Familiarity with technical writing tools and software (e.g., Word, screen capture, graphics tools, Confluence).
- Organizational and project management skills: manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Critical thinking: analyze information, identify issues, and present logical decisions.
