Position

Technical Writer-Journeyman for Digital and Electro Magnetic Spectrum at AMEWAS. Salary range: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year. This on-site role is located in Point Mugu, CA. The position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Responsibilities

  • Writes technical materials such as test reports, equipment manuals, appendices or operating/maintenance instructions
  • Assists in layout work
  • Creates and maintains multiple documents associated with product deliveries, including but not limited to: Logistics, Configuration Management, Systems Engineering and Test for Domestic and Foreign Military Sales (FMS); Software Description Documents (SDD); Software Version Documents (SVD); Test and Evaluation (T&E); Test Plans and Interim Summary Reports (ISR)
  • Interacts with internal teams and customers to confirm Software User Manual (SUM) changes
  • Supports regular interface meetings with customers regarding domestic and FMS SUM versions
  • Supports reviews of product release recommendations
  • Reviews/updates to requirements, cyber and integration documents
  • Assists in creating templates to manage data appropriately
  • Collaborates with other functional areas to verify data against program-specific artifacts
  • Assists in creating other ad-hoc project-related documentation as needed

Qualifications

Must-haves
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • 3-10 years of experience writing technical material (test reports, equipment manuals, appendices or operating/maintenance instructions)
  • Ability to assist in layout work
  • Ability to create and maintain multiple documents for product deliveries including but not limited to: Logistics, Configuration Management, Systems Engineering and Test for Domestic and Foreign Military Sales (FMS); Software Description Documents (SDD); Software Version Documents (SVD); Test and Evaluation (T&E); Test Plans and Interim Summary Reports (ISR)
  • Ability to interact with internal teams and customers to confirm SUM changes
  • Experience supporting interface meetings with customers regarding domestic and FMS SUM versions
  • Experience supporting reviews of product release recommendations
  • Skills to review and update requirements, cyber and integration documents
  • Ability to create templates to manage data effectively
  • Proficiency in collaborating with other functional areas to verify data against program artifacts
  • Experience assisting in creating ad-hoc project-related documentation
  • Ability to train to verify and coordinate DoN DADMS submissions with Cyber Security
  • Experience managing/updating information in cybersecurity databases within program-related systems
  • Experience reviewing active application components and their versions in the fleet
  • Experience ensuring applications are active in DADMS and not expired or nearing expiration
  • Knowledge of updating active component records to denote DADMS ID and status
  • Background in maintaining information in program-related systems
  • Experience performing technical writing tasks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently; self-starter and detail-oriented
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • DoD Secret Security Clearance required to start
