Work Location: Oshkosh, WI. Possibility for this role to be remote as well.

Pay: $40-42/hour

Duration: Project-based, through 3/31/2026 (with possible extension)

Job Overview

As a Layout Designer, you will work closely with engineers to create and update design drawings using CAD software. Youll generate new components, update existing ones, and organize Bills of Materials (BOM) in line with industry standards

Key Responsibilities

- Update existing CAD drawings based on engineering feedback

- Convert old CAD drawings to the latest format

- Create both 3D and 2D layouts with CAD software (mainly using Creo)

- Double-check your own work for accuracy, correct measurements, and compliance with standards

- Use Windchill and ERP systems to organize part numbers and ensure data is entered accurately

Minimum Qualifications

- U.S. citizenship required

- Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent*

- At least 2 years of experience in drafting/design

- Experience using Creo CAD and Windchill systems

- Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) in automotive or aerospace is required

- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

- Previous defense or government project work is preferred

- Physically able to sit for long periods, use computers, and perform fine hand movements

- Comfortable with typical Windows Office tools (like SharePoint and email) and CAD applications

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of drafting/design experience

- Associate degree or equivalent*

- Certification in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

- Interest in taking initiative, learning new things, and working in a team
