The Role
We’re looking for DFW-based freelance reporters to produce original, on-the-ground stories that illuminate local issues through solid reporting and rich context.
Key Responsibilities
- Pitch 2-3 story ideas per month focused on DFW communities (housing, faith, immigration, civil rights, local politics, worker issues, etc.)
- Report, interview, and fact-check to Context Corner’s editorial standards (min. two verifiable sources per piece)
- Deliver two 700–1,200-word feature or 400–600-word news brief per assignment—deadline-reliable
- Supply relevant visuals (photos, docs, data links) when possible
- Participate in a short editor debrief to refine angles and provide follow-ups
