Job Summary

The Department of Music at Georgia College & State University is currently searching for a pool of part-time faculty positions to teach various courses in the Music curriculum. These positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis and will be commensurate with experience. Assignments may require teaching day, evening or online classes as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and/or serving as academic assistant for music courses as assigned.
  • Possible teaching assignments may include Music Appreciation and GC1Y course (specific to GCSU).
  • Weekly applied instruction for voice, string (cello, acoustic & electric bass), woodwinds (oboe, bassoon), percussion, brass and attend weekly studio/recital meetings.
  • Chamber ensembles.
  • Other areas of need within the Music Department.
  • Additional responsibilities may include attending auditions, juries, clinics, and performances outside the regular class time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: Master\'s degree required; terminal degree or equivalent in experience and training preferred. Typical candidates will hold a degree in Music Performance, Music Education, Musicology, Music Therapy or other related fields in music.
  • Required Experience: College teaching experience is preferred.
