Music Coordinator, The Hive (Marketing)

The Hive team manages and develops creative marketing assets in support of Global Theatrical, Disney+, Disney Corporate and the Disney Company at large. The Hive falls under Theatrical Marketing and Distribution and collaborates with all other creative partners across the Studio and Company.

The Music Department assists The Hive in finding the perfect music for each of their projects by working with Clients, the Creative Director, Producers, and Editors. This includes finding commercial songs, library cues, producing custom music, and custom overlays. The Music Department also acts as a liaison between record labels, music publishers, music libraries, and composers. The Music Coordinator will be part of the Music Department and assist the department by handling administrative tasks such as creating cue sheets for deliverables, organizing the music server, tagging and organizing all cleared cues, and be part of an exciting and rewarding creative process.

Responsibilities

  • Creating cue sheets for all active campaigns
  • Gathering cleared cues for active campaigns
  • Keeping Approved Library List up to date
  • Keeping label/publisher/library contacts up to date
  • Updating the music server database
  • Create & submit expense reports for music purchases
  • Keep a running list of all cues finished in trailers created in house + any outside work done using a major commercial cue
  • Reach out to labels/publishers/libraries for music assets (stems & instrumentals)
  • Provide ad hoc support to partnering departments. Additional duties and responsibilities will be assigned as needed. We ask you to be flexible with the duties on this list.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of music and marketing industry experience
  • Must have experience doing cue sheets
  • Must be extremely detail oriented
  • Must be able to multitask, be extremely organized, and be self-motivated
  • Must be Mac proficient and tech savvy
  • Must have an excellent work ethic, sense of timeliness, flexibility for evening and weekend work
  • Must be TEAM ORIENTED and enjoy collaboration
  • Interested in music for film advertising and advertising, passionate to learn, and a keen sense of musical tone
  • Must be available to work onsite 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday). Fridays are remote with flexibility to work onsite as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Avid and Premier
  • Understanding of music clearance and licensing

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $53,300 to $71,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
