Overview
The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business comprises the university’s three accredited business schools: the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, the Johnson Graduate School of Management, and the Nolan School of Hotel Administration. The college engages in research, industry and community partnerships, and offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs that reflect a future-focused, cross-disciplinary approach. The Office of Marketing and Communications supports the college’s goals for enrollment, alumni relations, philanthropy, brand visibility, and external reputation. The communications team develops messaging and content strategies across media to connect with prospective and current students, alumni, and the media. University Relations provides services through the departments of News, Media Relations, Brand, Strategic Communications, and Cornellians, with collaboration across colleges, schools, and units.
The Multimedia Content Developer Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Brand Visuals, the Multimedia Content Developer will collaborate across the Communications team to pursue and develop strategic multimedia projects in support of the college’s brand awareness, website, social media, and marketing efforts. The incumbent will develop and manage project logistics.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, edit and produce creative multimedia projects including photographic and video storytelling, communications or marketing materials, social media content, and coverage of campus events.
- Finalizes project deliverables, ensuring clearance, copyright, and accessibility standards are met.
- Contribute to processing, cataloging, archiving, and distributing multimedia materials.
- Create content for marketing, communications and special projects.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend relevant technology, software, and equipment for multimedia projects.
The Multimedia Content Developer collaborates across the college’s schools, departments, programs and divisions to enhance and support the Cornell University and SC Johnson College of Business brand.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Detail-oriented, talented content developer who can work on deadline while managing multiple projects.
- Excellent design and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency in current hardware and software applications for multimedia content development and storage.
- Creative problem-solving skills; agile and adaptable to changing situations.
- Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
- Ability to work independently from concept to completion while valuing collaboration and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in an academic or media environment.
- Ability to build positive relationships within the college, university, and stakeholder community.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision and use sound judgment in decision making, including prioritization and meeting deadlines.
- Some travel may be required for face-to-face meetings or events, up to 5% of time.
- Flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week, including evenings or weekends when needed.
