Overview Music Production Instructor (Music Industry Development) role at The MusicianShip. The instructor introduces students to the world of digital music-making, exploring beat creation, songwriting, and audio editing using digital audio workstations (DAWs). The program culminates in original compositions or collaborative pieces for the End of Year Showcase.
Responsibilities Create and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that introduce students to the fundamentals of music production, including recording, sequencing, and arranging
Teach students to use digital audio workstations (DAWs), MIDI controllers, and recording equipment to create and refine original music
Lead students through hands-on projects that develop technical skills in beat-making, sampling, sound design, mixing, and mastering
Guide students in exploring a variety of genres, styles, and production techniques to expand their creative toolkit
Foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment that encourages experimentation, peer feedback, and artistic growth
Help students understand the creative process from idea to final product, preparing them to showcase their work in performances or recordings
Provide instruction on best practices for workflow, file management, and equipment care, ensuring safe and efficient use of technology
Stay informed on emerging trends and tools in music production and integrate relevant innovations into the curriculum
Requirements Proficient in DAWs such as Soundtrap, BandLab, FL Studio, or Logic
Experience teaching music production to youth
Strong communication and project-based instruction skills
Proficiency in Google Workplace
