Job Posting Information
This position works primarily at the Walt Branch Library (6701 S 14th Street, 68512). Pay rate is $13.50 hourly. The selected candidate is anticipated to begin work in late October.
Part-time, generally 16 hours/week with base schedule of 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sundays and 4:05 p.m. - 8:05 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Schedule may be adjusted due to staffing and service needs. Additional hours may occasionally be available, and schedule adjustments may be necessary around holidays and other closures. This position is not eligible for Holiday Pay or other benefits.

Library Aides are visible in our libraries as they accurately shelve materials to be readily accessible by staff and customers, pull items to fill customer hold requests, and perform various collection maintenance tasks such as inventory, accurate relocation of mis-shelved items, organizing materials and pulling assigned materials for removal from the collection. Library Aides provide excellent service to our customers behind the scenes by ensuring returned materials are checked in correctly and distributed to their next destination. Aides may assist with set-up or tear-down for library programs.

Examples of work performed: Shelves materials efficiently, performs shelf reading, checks in materials, empties book drops and sorts materials, assists with collection maintenance such as shifting, search lists, inventories, weeding.
