Overview

Communication Specialist I - Dispatcher - 911 Operator role at the City of Midwest City. This position is in the Emergency Communications Department and involves receiving, analyzing, and dispatching messages to radio-equipped units of Police, Fire & Ambulance departments and monitoring burglar and fire alarms. This role is safety/security sensitive and may be subject to pre-employment and post-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Receive, analyze, and dispatch messages to radio-equipped units of Police, Fire & Ambulance departments.
• Monitor burglar and fire alarm systems.
• Operate a two-way radio and computer terminal with OLETS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in operation of a two-way radio and computer terminal preferred with OLETS certification preferred.
• Must pass data entry test (minimum 5500 keystrokes per hour) and in-depth background check, polygraph, drug screen, and hearing test.
• Must be able to perform duties requiring safety/security sensitivity.

Additional Details

• Starting Salary: $23.5839 - $24.9716 per hour.
