About StretchMed
StretchMed is a 1-on-1 assisted stretching model with a mission to eliminate chronic pain, increase mobility, rejuvenate, and help clients move well. Our proprietary stretch protocols are built on over 50 years of experience in fitness and wellness, combining PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) and static stretching. Each session ends with percussion therapy, enhancing recovery and relaxation.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and capable Studio Manager & Stretch Therapist to lead our New Haven location. This hybrid role combines 60% direct client stretch therapy with 40% management responsibilities. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive sales, and build a high-performing team while also delivering exceptional assisted stretching sessions.
This is a 45-hour per week in-studio position with a flexible, task- and performance-driven schedule. Candidates must also be available to cover shifts as needed. Studio hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM8:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM (with Sunday hours to be added when business needs arise).
Key Responsibilities
Client-Facing (60%):
Deliver personalized assisted stretch sessions using StretchMed protocols
Guide clients through structured stretch flows with real-time feedback
Apply percussion therapy to enhance recovery, mobility, and relaxation
Build rapport, track client progress, and recommend memberships/packages
Management & Leadership (40%):
Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and studio standards
Recruit, train, and develop stretch therapists and front-desk staff
Lead team meetings, coaching, and performance management
Drive membership sales, conversions, and retention
Manage lead follow-up, sales accountability, and client satisfaction
Coordinate marketing initiatives, including pop-up events, grassroots outreach, and local partnerships
Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming studio environment
Requirements
Certification, license, or degree in a movement-related field (e.g., exercise science, kinesiology, massage therapy, physical therapy, corrective exercise, yoga, or athletic training)
Strong leadership and people management skills
Ability to drive sales, meet business goals, and hold staff accountable
Comfortable performing assisted stretch sessions (manual dexterity and physical strength required)
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
Dependable and flexible with availability during all studio operating hours
Previous stretch therapy experience preferred (training provided if not certified)
