The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects tutors with students nationwide for online Expository Writing tutoring. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
• Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
• Assist with session needs using the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; we handle payments and logistics.
• Earn incremental pay increases for same-student sessions, up to the stated range.

What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Expository Writing with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
