The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online Expository Writing tutors nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students and tailor instruction to their needs.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests when available.
• Utilize the platform’s Live Learning tools to deliver engaging, personalized lessons.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; the company handles payments and logistics.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can rise to up to $40/hour with continued work with the same student.
• Get paid up to twice per week for completed sessions.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Tutor remotely using a purpose-built platform—no commuting required.
• AI-powered Tutor Copilot assists with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Expository Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.

• Priority given to candidates with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
