Company Overview

Mirra Homes is a Puget Sound based home builder. Our success depends upon the happiness and well-being of Mirra’s customers, the people at Mirra, and Mirra’s commitment to social responsibility. Creating homes and communities that others appreciate and value is what drives us. Integrity is at the core of everything we do, and our reputation is built on this principle. We are passionate about our work and believe that enjoyment is crucial to achieving success.

Role Overview

We’re seeking an Interior Design & Planning Manager to own all interior design decisions across our projects. You will fully own the design of every Mirra home — from concept through selections and specifications — ensuring each interior is cohesive, on-trend, and buildable. You’ll collaborate closely with third-party architects, purchasing, construction, and leadership to keep projects on time, on budget, and aligned with Mirra’s design vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the entire interior design of every home — making all selections from paint to flooring to cabinetry, fixtures, and lighting — and translate them into clear specifications and schedules.
  • Develop interior design plans and packages: floorplans, elevations, sections, and detailed layouts (millwork, lighting, finishes).
  • Produce construction-ready documentation using Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, Sketchup, or other interior design software.
  • Document design changes during frame walks and site reviews.
  • Research and apply current design trends and innovative materials.
  • Create marketing floorplans and interior plans suitable for real estate agents, brochures, and web use.
  • Balance creativity, constructability, and cost-to-value in all design decisions.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of interior design experience in a residential construction, architecture, or homebuilding environment (residential, multifamily, or commercial).
  • Proficiency in Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, Sketchup, or other interior design software; ability to generate construction documentation.
  • Strong understanding of space planning, floor planning, residential construction, and building systems.
  • General understanding of relevant building codes for interiors.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills; able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong design sensibility, trend awareness, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Effective communicator with stakeholders across construction, purchasing, and leadership (no direct client interface).

You'll Be a Good Fit If…

  • You balance creativity with financial and construction parameters.
  • You have a keen eye for design and an instinct for where trends are headed.
  • You’re tech-savvy with an understanding of key construction and design programs.
  • You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party partners.
  • You thrive on ownership — this role carries full accountability for interior design decisions.
