Key Responsibilities:
Design HVAC and plumbing systems including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts. Perform load calculations, pressure drop analysis, and equipment selection. Prepare construction documents, including drawings and specifications, suitable for bidding and permitting. Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions. Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for retrofit and new construction projects. Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for mechanical scopes. Review and ensure compliance with local building codes and industry standards. Support project timelines and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Design, or a related technical field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on HVAC and/or plumbing systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Trace Load software or similar HVAC analysis tools is a plus. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction documentation. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Experience working in a collaborative design team environment. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new standards.
