About Us
We are seeking an AV Installation Technician with strong installation skills and preferably experience in Q-SYS programming to join our team. This role involves hands-on installation, configuration, and service of AV, control, and security systems across diverse environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven setting.
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test AV equipment (displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, cameras, control systems).
- Run and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/6/7, 16/2, 16/4, HDMI, audio, control).
- Program and configure AV control systems (Q-SYS experience highly preferred; knowledge of Control4, Crestron, or Extron a plus).
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of installed systems.
- Work directly with clients, contractors, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations and system configurations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in AV system installation (commercial, residential, or higher education environments).
- Proficiency with rack building, wiring, and signal flow.
- Experience with Q-SYS platform (design, programming, and deployment) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with other AV/IT platforms (Crestron, Extron, Dante, Control4, etc.) a plus.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, wireless APs).
- Ability to lift and mount equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work on ladders/lifts as needed.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
