Position Summary: The Graphic Designer is a creative professional responsible for developing and executing high-quality visual communications that support the LCEC mission, brand, and member engagement. Working within the Public Relations department, this position serves the entire organization by producing professional design work for publications, marketing materials, digital platforms, corporate projects and initiatives, and compliance-related communications.
Position Responsibilities
- Coordinate, design, and oversee all printed and digital corporate communications to ensure a consistent corporate image and alignment with organizational strategic goals.
- Design and produce professional print and digital materials including the annual report, brochures, newsletters, hurricane guide, advertising campaigns, and other publications.
- Provide creative direction, support, and production oversight for corporate collateral across print, video, website, television, radio, and social media.
- Coordinate and design trustee election materials and other communications required to meet bylaw, legal, and Florida Public Service Commission requirements.
- Develop, audit, and maintain graphic content for LCEC internal and external websites, and Intranet.
- Manage design and production processes from concept through completion, including Request for Proposal development, vendor coordination, and oversight of print and promotional item production.
- Preparation of production schedules, deadlines and all digital components required for print or digital production, including one-to-six-color printing, vector graphics, four-color separation, and color correction processes.
- Collaborate with PR team, department leaders, and subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, visually engaging materials.
- Cultivate effective working relationships across departments and with external partners.
- Maintain organized digital asset libraries and production files LCEC use.
- Stay current on certifications, design trends, software updates, and best practices in communication design
- Serve as a professional LCEC representative, including participation in at least one community leadership board.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC.
- Support Storm Restoration efforts when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with vector graphics, typography, color theory, and layout design.
- Portfolio demonstrating a range of professional, polished design work across print and digital mediums.
- 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in a corporate communications, agency, or public relations environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
- Strong knowledge of print production processes and file preparation including vector files, offset printing, separations, stripping, screening, and digital workflows.
- Proficiency with website and social media design platforms, including CMS, responsive and accessibility design considerations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects independently from concept through production and delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy and quality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to learn and master new technology in a self-directed manner.
- Ability to create, edit, produce video content for social media, digital signage, and online platforms.
