Overview

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide with online AP English Literature and Composition tutors. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from home.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students 1-on-1 online, providing personalized instruction in AP English Literature and Composition.
• Accept on-demand (Instant) tutoring requests when you’re available.
• Use the Live Learning Platform to conduct sessions remotely (no commuting).

What We Look For

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Preference given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can rise for specialized subjects, with rates up to $40/hour for ongoing sessions with the same student.
• Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice for.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
• AI-powered Tutor Copilot enhances sessions with real-time support and lesson generation to save prep time.
• We handle logistics—invoice for sessions and payments are taken care of.
