Position Summary: The Music Therapist is responsible for the provision of Music Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions, and discharge planning.

The therapist utilizes individual and/or group interventions to bring about positive changes in the patient’s behavior, including cognitive, social, emotional, or physical aspects. The therapist educates the patient in healthy coping skills and available resources for post-discharge planning and involvement.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing Music Therapy services according to current standards of practice.
• Utilizing individual and/or group interventions to bring about positive changes in patient behavior.
• Educating patients in healthy coping skills and available resources.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Music therapy with Certification in Music Therapy required or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation Therapy with a current CTRS.
• Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) required.
