Responsible for developing strategies and overseeing implementation of a comprehensive corporate communication plan for the West Virginia University Health System's (System) Signature Service Lines. Also responsible for communication to the public via a public website that promotes the service line, as well as publications targeted to the public and referring physicians. Oversees event planning, as well as public relations and advertising for community efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Ten (10) years' experience in communications, public relations, marketing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- 5 years relevant experience in a healthcare-related organization
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as chief internal communications officer and strategist for the Signature Service Line.
- Provides routine strategic internal communications counsel and support to senior Service Line leaders; helps identify communication priorities, strategies and tactics, and crafts messages.
- Develops strategies and oversees implementation of comprehensive plans for regular and emergency internal communication to Service Line employees, including WVU physicians and residents.
- Conducts periodic examinations of communication tactics to determine if they are achieving desired results.
- Oversees the publication of a Service Line employee e-newsletter.
- Guides development and management of the public website that promotes the Service Line.
- Oversees development of physician blogs that promote services being marketed.
- Oversees planning and execution of Service Line events, including groundbreakings, topping out ceremonies, grand openings, and celebrations.
- Directs a comprehensive, targeted, and sustainable community relations program that enhances the Service Line's image and increases its visibility, helps improve the health and quality of life of West Virginians, and contributes to the organization's obligation to provide community benefits in the public interest.
- Works closely with community and WVU leaders and serves as the Service Line representative on committees and task forces.
Additional Job Description:
This position will lead all marketing and communications activities at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. They will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that focus on brand awareness; clinical care and program growth; scientific advancements; and outreach, while supporting the Institute's mission.
