Overview

The MSG Security Supervisor is accountable for providing an exceptional guest experience across MSG venues in relation to Event or Building Security. This role focuses on partnering within venues and across functions to get work done through others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Success is demonstrated by creating a safe and secure environment without sacrificing guest experience, pursuing continuous learning, and achieving business results. The Security Supervisor reports to the MSG Security Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead building and Event security officers on a daily basis.
  • Develop front-line colleagues to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a safe environment and collaborate with other departments, especially in emergencies and crises.
  • Ensure officers are aware of post and assignment responsibilities and maintain proper uniform standards; prohibit non-security use of mobile devices during shifts.
  • Coach, train, evaluate, and mentor staff using established programs and prior experience.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, invoices, incident reports, daily reports, and documentation logs.
  • Prepare security office space and equipment, and coordinate with facilities and custodial teams for maintenance and improvements.
  • Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and effectively.
  • Assist with security programs (e.g., equipment inventory, security advances and walkthroughs for visiting VIPs, process improvements, and long-term projects) and represent security leadership to internal teams.
  • Oversee Security Operations Center (SOC) staff and Building Security officers as needed; coordinate security matters with the SOC, including video surveillance requests.
  • Collaborate with MSG departments (Building Security, Guest Services, Production, Building Operations) to ensure a united approach to safety and security.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in security, law enforcement, or military settings; preferred experience with labor unions and familiarity with events, sports, and theater operations in an entertainment venue.
  • Previous security experience; ideal if prior service as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. military involving leading small units and training others.
  • Educational background: minimum 60 college credits (2 years) or equivalent self-development through certifications or trade coursework.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to mobilize stakeholders and engage with all organizational levels.
  • Experience completing reports and documenting staff performance.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence across functions, maintaining a positive, professional relationship with diverse groups.
  • Experience coaching and developing staff to meet business goals and holding teams accountable.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and respond to customer issues with urgency; adept at multi-tasking under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in guard workforce scheduling, security advances, officer training, emergency response, project management, crowd management, and security policy development.

Special Requirements

  • Willingness to travel to other locations as needed.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and a 24x7 environment.
  • Physical requirements: lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation

Hourly pay range: $37.00 USD
