Senior Radio Frequency Engineer Job at SoloPoint Solutions in Torrance

Established in 2013, the company provides state-of-the-art RF components and antenna feeds for the satellite communications industry. The role joins a small, dedicated, and highly-educated engineering team in a hands-on environment.

Areas of expertise include:

• RF Design and Analysis: From individual components to complex wide-band or multi-band feed assemblies.
• Reflector Antennas: Ranging from electrically small axi-symmetric antennas to large dual-reflectors and beam-waveguide systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis efforts for antenna feed components for existing and emerging markets.
• Translate system-level specifications into high-quality, feasible designs.
• Conduct and present technical information for design reviews, data reviews, and peer reviews.
• Perform testing and verification of RF components and systems.
• Develop, review, and execute test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Provide hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and engineering support for production.
• Troubleshoot development projects through testing and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Electromagnetics, Antennas, or Microwaves (Master's degree preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience designing passive microwave components.
• Expert knowledge of microwave communications and electromagnetic (EM) theory.
• Proficiency with 3D EM RF CAD tools, such as GRASP, Mode Matching Software, and Finite Element Modeling (FEM) systems.
• Strong background in RF test methods and hands-on experience with relevant test equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment, taking on diverse responsibilities.
• Hands-on machine shop experience is strongly preferred.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
• This position requires you to be onsite 100% of the time.
