Our Mission is to build the seamless intersection between legal and business by creating a world-class platform to help professionals scale.

We’re seeking a Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) licensed in California to join our fast-moving reporter marketplace team in a leadership capacity. This role blends traditional stenographic work with supervisory, training, and quality oversight responsibilities, offering the opportunity to shape standards for a modern, tech-enabled deposition and court reporting experience.

You’ll serve both as an expert reporter and as the go-to authority on California court reporting requirements—managing staff, overseeing operations, and ensuring that every transcript meets the highest accuracy and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture depositions, hearings, and legal proceedings in a certified stenographic capacity, producing accurate, verbatim transcripts
  • Use CAT software and digital audio tools to scope, proofread, and finalize transcripts that meet California court reporting standards
  • Lead quality assurance by auditing transcripts, schedules, and workflows for accuracy, consistency, and compliance; provide feedback, training, and onboarding support to strengthen team performance
  • Drive strategic planning by developing staffing models, overseeing recruitment, and aligning resources to ensure coverage of all proceedings
  • Partner with leadership to design and implement long-term process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and overall reporting quality

Requirements:

  • Current California Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) license (required)
  • In-depth knowledge of California procedural rules, legal terminology, and transcript formatting standards
  • Significant experience in court reporting, with proven supervisory or leadership experience
  • Proficiency with CAT software (e.g., Case CATalyst, Eclipse) and digital audio review tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote or hybrid environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. A collaborative mindset with a commitment to upholding the highest professional standards
  • Comfort with a mix of live proceedings, remote work, and operational oversight

Benefits:

  • Leadership position with direct impact on quality and operational excellence
  • Blend of stenographic, scopist, and management responsibilities
  • Remote-friendly with flexible scheduling
  • Opportunity to help shape a modern, technology-driven deposition and court reporting experience
  • Join a detail-driven, collaborative, and fast-moving team
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance (for full-time employees)
  • Competitive & Fair Pay
  • Maternity & paternity leave (for full-time employees)
  • Short & long-term disability
  • Opportunity to learn from a dedicated leadership team

Filevine is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
